LANDSCAPES & LIGHTHOUSES 2009 (SOLO ART SHOW)
These are
a sample of some of the paintings from my last art show. Two thirds of the show
are oil paintings and the rest are watercolors. Two thirds of the shows
paintings have been completed in 2008 and 2009. |
LAKE REFLECTIONS
Oil Painting, 24"x48" $725.
When I backpack in the High Sierra, lakes would be as smooth as glass in the
morning before the sun would shine on the lake. Lake Reflections (an imaginary
lake) captures that stillness and the glass reflections.

 | HAY BALES
Oil Painting, 18"x24" $450.
While driving to the Lewiston Art Show last summer I drove by this field
of hay bales near my home on Stone Road, and I knew I had to paint them.

30 MILE LIGHTHOUSE, VISITORS
Oil Painting, 18"x24" $525.
Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse has a rich history and
visitors come from all over the County to climb the tower and enjoy the
lighthouse and views of Lake Ontario.

| INDIAN ISLAND LIGHT
Oil Painting, 8"x10" $225.
This lighthouse is located off the coast of Maine near Rockland.
I really like the combination of colors it
captures the feeling of winter coming on.

FORT NIAGARA MUSICIANS
Oil Painting, 16"x20" $475.
I was amazed with these three young musicians playing inside a sun drenched
room of the castle in Fort Niagara. It is located at the mouth of the Niagara
River feeding into Lake Ontario.

| TURKEY CROSSING
Oil Painting, 16"x20" $490.
There are alot of wild turkeys in Western New York. I went out in a corn field
hoping to see these turkeys, and then they came out of the woods and crossed the
stream heading for their nesting site for the night.

30 MILE LIGHT AT SUNSET
Watercolor Painting, 11"x14" $375.
Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse is located thirty miles east of the mouth of
the Niagara River on Lake Ontario. I found this awesome sunset one summer evening.

| CHARLOTTE/GENESEE LIGHT

Charlotte/Genesee light is located in Rochester New York on
Lake Ontario.

THE WAKEMAN FARM IN WINTER I
Oil Painting, 12"x16" $375.
My mother-in-law, Elizabeth Smith, grew up on the Wakeman farm in Lockport
New York. There were so many stories there. I liked the natural back end of
the farm.

Another veiw of the farm the view is looking north from the railroad tracks
in between the golf course and Cold Springs Cemetary.

BUFFALO LIGHT AT SUNSET I
Watercolor Painting, 11"x14" $350.
As a result of a demonstration I completed five similar paintings.

| CAPE HATTERAS LIGHT WITH HOUSE
Watercolor Painting, 11"x14" $400.
Cape Hatteras Light is located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
It is one of the renowned lighthouses of the east coast.

AMERICAN FALLS
Oil Painting, 12"x16" $350.
The American Falls are part of the Niagara Falls
located at the end of Lake Erie on the Niagara River which empties into
Lake Ontario.

 | HORSESHOE FALLS
Oil Painting, 12"x16" $350.
The Horseshoe Falls are in Canada
next to the American Falls seperated by rock. It is the more
spectacular than the American Falls. I felt I had to include them
in my show.

I really like the colors in this painting.

| REVOLUTIONARY VOLUNTEERS
Oil Painting, 8x10 $300.
Dipping for a cup of punch, part of the celebration of
that inspired Fife and Drum. I like the perspective of this painting.

NAUSET LIGHT
Watercolor Painting, 11"x14" $375.
Nauset Light is located on the east coast of Cape Cod in Massachusettes.
It is in close proximity to the Tree Sisters Lighthouses.

Sodus Point Lighthouse is located on Lake Ontario
between Rochester and Syracuse New York.

Looking east with a moonrise and stars on a hot August
evening at dusk. The light is on the fog house in the foreground.

 | WASHINGTON CROSSING
Oil Painting, 8"x10" $225.
Every Christmas reinactors gather at
the Delaware River to celebrate the greatest sneak attack of the
Revolutionary War.

30 MILE LIGHT IN AUTUMN
Watercolor, 11"x14" $375.
I sketched this painting, took it to California and painted it
with my Mom and Dad last September. So it has a special place in my heart.

| POINT JUDITH LIGHTHOUSE
Oil Painting, 12"x24" $350.
Point Judith Lighthouse is located on the southern coast of
Rhode Island. It is operated and maintainted by the U.S. Coast Guard.
It is an amazing lighthouse.
